The life and adventures of my ancestor Mariano Salluzzo, a Sicilian doctor who was born in 1848 in Piedimonte Etneo – a small town in the slopes of Etna Volcano.
Mariano was very active in the political and cultural context of his time. He was a patriot, and following Garibaldi he took part in The Expedition of the Thousand which led to the unification of Italy and the creation of the Italian Kingdom in 1861.
